On this amazingly sunny day, I drove down to Decatur, Indiana after a business trip in nearby Fort Wayne, to visit one of the many ancestral cemeteries of my mother’s side of the family. It was a bonus to have my Uncle John and Jim on hand so I could show them the Hawk Family section.
John was up from his home in Florida, and staying with his brother Jim and his wife Marcia. We met in downtown Decatur, and John got in my car, and Marcia and Jim followed behind. Mt. Tabor Cemetery is about five miles out of town, and the cemetery is kept up nicely…on the surface. Behind our family section, we found a creek gorge with exposed vaults. Creepy.
Great day though!!
